Cooking Instruction: Rinse, soak overnight, drain. Add to 4 cups of water/cup of mixed beans & peas, bring to boil. Simmer on low heat for 60-90 minutes or until soft & tender (add more water as needed). Whisk lightly, remove the floating foam. Flavor with butter or oil, salt to taste or seasoning if desired. Cook uncovered over low heat until desired consistency. Serve warm.
1 cup dry yields 2 ½ cup cooked dal.
