Brown Sweet rice
This delicate short grain rice with husk removed, leaving the nutrient-packed bran and germ, and has a nutty, slightly sweet flavor.
After cooking the grains are soft and cling together. Ideal for use in sushi rice, creamy soups, rice pudding, or everyday recipes for a stickier texture.
Cooking Instructions for plain rice:
- In a sauce pan add 2 cups of water/ Cup soaked & rinsed rice, 1 tsp salt (opt), and 1 Tbsp oil / butter.
- Stir lightly, bring to a rolling boil, lower the heat, cover with lid and simmer for 50 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, let the rice steamed in the covered pot at least another 10 minutes or until the rice has absorbed the liquid.
- Fluff with fork and enjoy as a main dish or a side dish or use it in desserts.
One cup of rice will yield: 3 cups of cooked rice.
