Gigante (Giant) Beans are Ex-large white runner beans, popular in Greek & Mediterranean cuisine. When cooked, hold their shape, has a tender, yet creamy-meaty texture, sweet, mild taste, and absorb surrounding flavors. Great for soups or pair with poultry, seafood, & hearty greens.
Basic preparation: Wash, rinse & soak overnight. Add 4 Cups of water / Cup of Bean, bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 60-90 minutes or until tender (add more water as needed). Whisk lightly to remove the floating foam while cooking.
Yield: 3 cups of cooked beans / Cup of dry beans
