Masoor Whole is a brown skinned whole lentils grown in India, also called ‘Sabut masoor ’, is a rich source of dietary fiber. It has an earthly flavor, easy to digest and is very palatable. When cooked, have a wonderful creamy texture, usually made as a slightly thick curry.
Cooking Instruction: Wash, rinse, soak lightly & drain. Add 5 cups of water/ cup of lentil, bring to boil. Lower the heat, simmer 50-60 minutes or until tender & soft (add more water as needed). Whisk lightly, remove the floating foam. Flavor with butter or oil, salt to taste and dal masala seasoning if desired. Cook uncovered over low heat until desired consistency. Serve warm with steamed basmati rice, or paratha and choice of any veggie.
